Google has partnered with Lime Connect to bring out abilities in disabilities. Not again is disability a barrier to pursuing your dream career. The Google Lime Scholarship program is open to interested undergraduates and graduate students planning on enrolling in a full-time degree program at any University in Canada or in the US for 2022.

If you have one disability or the other and you’re interested in pursuing a full-time computer science bachelor’s degree or master’s degree, the Google Lime Scholarship is for you.

Recipients are awarded the sum of $10,000 for candidates studying in the US while students studying in Canada are awarded the sum of $5,000 CAD.

As part of their commitment to developing future talents, Google formed a partnership with Lime Connect in 2008 to assist tech-driven youths who are less privileged in society but have a passion for computer programming.

Apart from the amount provided by the Google Lime Scholarship, recipients also qualify to attend Google Scholars’ retreat.

Eligible candidates are awarded $10,000 USD (for students studying in the US) and $5,000 CAD (for students studying in Canada).

Eligibility Requirements for Google Lime scholarship

Below are the basic requirements to successfully complete the Google Lime Scholarships:

  • All applicants must be current undergraduate, graduate or PhD students enrolled at a university in the U.S. or Canada
  • Applicants must be enrolled or intend to be enrolled in an accredited university in Canada or US as a full-time student.
  • Applicants must be pursuing a Computer Science or Software Engineering degree. A degree in a closely related field such as electrical engineering with a heavy computer science course load can also apply.
  • Applicants must have a strong academic performance.
  • A student with a visible or invisible disability (defined as someone who has, or considers themselves to have, a long-term, or recurring, issue that affects one or more major activities that others may consider to be a daily function); this definition also includes the perception among others that a disability exists. We know that 90% of disabilities on campus are invisible, and it encourages candidates with all disabilities to apply.
  • Candidates must exemplify leadership character, commitment, and passion for computer science and technology.

Kindly note that recipients of Google Lime scholarship awards are no longer eligible to receive the scholarship fund again

Level/field of study: Computer Science or computer-related degree at Undergraduate, Masters’s, and PhD level.

Hosting Nation: United States.

Eligibility Nationality: Eligible Applicants can be citizens of any nation but must be enrolled to study in the U.S or Canada.

  • Sign up to join the Lime Network and start your application
  • Next, follow the instructions, fill in your details in the relevant field and submit the required documents along with your completed application form.

Required Documents for the Google Lime scholarship 2022

To complete your online application for the Google Lime scholarship award, you must provide these documents that are listed below. Note that all the documents are expected to be submitted along with the application form.

  • Current resume & unofficial transcripts
  • Three written essays – will be used to gauge your commitment and passion for computer science or engineering-related degree courses.
  • One letter of recommendation from an academic professional. Your referee may be your professors, advisers or project supervisors; their names and email addresses must be entered by the application deadline – letters of recommendation themselves are due one week later.

Google Lime Scholarship Deadlines

The application deadline for the Google Lime Scholarship is Sunday, December 12th, 2021 at midnight PST / 3 am EST.
